About Us
Battlesbridge Horse and Country is a family run business that was first born over 30 years ago. Originally selling horse feed and bedding; the company slowly grew over the years to what it provides to its customers today, offering a wide range of products for you, your horse and their stable.
The team here are a dynamic group of friendly individuals dedicated to providing customers with an exceptional experience. Full of knowledge of the products we offer, the team can provide guidance to help you purchase exactly what is right for you.

1993 - Early 2010's
In the start box
Through her younger years, Esther spent more hours in the saddle than she did doing anything else. Competing in multiple disciplines, her mum and dad, Nicky and Colin, were always by her side making it a true family effort.
Having horses who need that extra bit of TLC to achieve their true potential, they worked tirelessly to get their red ribbons to know the time and patience was worth it. Doing this, Esther learnt that there was nothing that could stop her from achieving her dreams. So, when she had the idea of owning her own tack shop, she wasn’t going to let anything get in her way.

2019
Now the hard work begins
Esther would regularly visit the shop and on her many trips there, Esther would tell her Mum, how she would “own this shop one day”. To no surprise, Esther kept her promise and on 1st May 2019, signed on the dotted line to become the proud owner of Battlesbridge Horse and Country.
Little did Esther realise what owning a shop would entail, so much so that on the first day of ownership, they hadn’t bought in any float money for the till!

2020
Locked down and locked in
Fast forward to March 2020, Esthers level of knowledge and commitment to the business increased but was pushed to its then limits when the coronavirus hit. Working 7 days a week, Esther, her family and the 6 members of staff at the time, worked tirelessly to keep the business running during lockdown for their customers and horses. Bags of feeds were being hand-balled for customers left and right and arctic lorry size deliveries were coming in on the daily. Times were tough, but in the words of Esther herself “once I’ve started it, I’ve got to finish it”. She was determined to grow this business into her dream equine shop.
Efforts were focused heavily on the foundations of the shop through 2020 and 2021which included replacing the feed pallets for shelving, building out the walls to showcase the ever-growing clothing area, upgrading the bedding area with concrete and creating more storage for the shops growth.
As the space grew, so did the stock. Esther has since been working to grow her partnerships with existing suppliers such as LeMieux and Shires as well as bringing on new, high-end brands such as Equiline and Pikeur. The shop now offers an extensive and wide range of brands and products for both the rider and their horse.
2024
Celebrating 5 incredible years
We’re thrilled to mark our first major anniversary, and what an exciting journey it’s been so far! All the hard work over the past 5 years has helped us reach new milestones, and we couldn’t have done it without your continued support.

Hosting our first Meet and Greets: From watching them on screen to meeting them in person, we successfully hosted our first meet and greets.
