3 Ring Dutch Gag Waterford Sweet Iron

An adaptable bit, the lower of the three rings produces more leverage if required. The mouth is made of many links making it difficult to lean against. Fit ¼” – ½” wider than usual as the mouthpiece needs to curl slightly around the lips for full potential. Sweet iron makes the bit very palatable and encourages salivation and softening. Mouthpiece thickness: 16mm. Cheek height: 145mm (4.5″ – 5″), 180mm (5.5″ – 6″). Sweet iron mouthpieces are designed to oxidize to produce a sweet taste which helps with mouthing. The addition of copper to the mouth ensures the horse will not take up too much of a contact, ideal for horses that can take a hold. Stainless steel is used for the cheeks due to it being dura ble, easy to clean and resistance to rust.
