Mashes are very useful for hydrating horses and volumising their feed.

TopSpec High Fibre Mash is a high fibre, low calorie, yet voluminous blend making it an ideal mash for good doers. The highly digestible fibre in this mash helps to promote the beneficial bacteria in the hindgut, therefore, helping to maintain a healthy digestive system.

High Fibre Mash is perfect for all those horses and ponies that obtain all the calories they need from forage but either deserve a feed or need a palatable low calorie carrier for supplements. It is cereal-grain-free, low in sugar and starch and therefore, ‘Non-Heating’.

It soaks quickly in 5 minutes to make an irresistible mash, ideal for horses and ponies that need or prefer a soft feed. The more water added to the dry mash to make it up, the lower calorie the ‘as-fed’ mash will be. The TopSpec nutritionists recommend adding 2 parts water to 1 part dry mash to result in a wet mash supplying 3.5MJ/kg.

High Fibre Mash is designed to be fed with any TopSpec feed balancer or TopSpec All-in-One multi-supplement as it does not contain any added vitamins or trace-elements. Salt, magnesium oxide and limestone are added to the blend to provide optimum levels of sodium, magnesium, and calcium, thus overcoming the major problems associated with the use of straights.

High Fibre Mash is suitable for:-

Good doers, especially if they need/deserve a voluminous feed.
Horses and ponies that need a low sugar/starch mash.*
Horses that need hydrating e.g. when away from home or during the winter.
Use as a carrier mash for supplements, balancers and/or medication.
